BILAL GIRLS MADRASSAH

The Bilal Girls Madrasa began their course on 22 October 2018. The Institute offers a one year Sheikhat Course (Islamic Teacher) for free to indigenous women. The sole purpose is to enable Sheikhats to teach basic Islamic knowledge to elderly girls and ladies in their respective areas. This need has arisen to create a replacement to the male Ustaads who are currently undertaking this responsibility. Vocational Training Courses (Tailoring classes) are also planned to be offered.

There were 14 girls (Initial intake) entering into the academic year with the intent of finishing the Madrasa course and Early Childhood Development Nursery School Course. However, one student had to leave due to personal circumstances that did not allow her to continue her studies. The remaining 13 girls completed the course and passed all their examinations successfully.

In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic proved to be a challenge for all members involved at Bilal Girls Madrasa. However, it did not stop the learning and teaching from taking place. Through the challenge, all students that partook in the third term examinations in August passed all subjects tremendously. The students were tested in a number of different subjects which were combination of oral and written examinations.

An eventful Jalsah with beautiful presentations were held on 20th August, 2020 in Madrasa Hall. A number of visitors from the community attended the event in celebration of the learners. All students received gifts for their achievements and efforts.
