In its efforts to expand Bilal Trust after a consultation with a few individual volunteers from Lilongwe established Bilal Trust Central Region in 2012.The main concentration has been in Nkhotakota where it operates Maktabs, Nursery Schools and provides Relief Services.
In 2012 there were 7 Maktabs and Nurseries, but today Bilal Trust Central Region with Allah”s Grace and donor support is running 33 Maktabs and 30 Nursery Schools, a Madrassah at the prison and two Madrassah for elderly ladies. A dedicated team of Inspectors, 45 Sheikhs, 44 Female Nursery Teachers and 2 Female Teachers for the ladies Madrassa are employed to carter for more than 7,300 students.
