It is against this background that Madinah Social services (MSS) was established in October 2005.MSS began its operation with a mobile clinic in February, 2006 at Makanjira in Mangochi, one of the most inaccessible areas in Rural Malawi and later in the same year came up with an urban clinic in Bangwe, Limbe. Today MSS boasts 8 Medical Facilities and employs over 100 staff including medical professionals treating an average of 13,000 patients per month.
Urban Clinics-(Bangwe/Ndirande)
Located in some of the largest townships in Limbe, Blantyre and Lilongwe, these provide quality health care at a grossly subsidised cost.
Rural Mobile Clinics(Makanjira/Katema) Bringing health care to the people
The mobile clinics cover a total of 8 strategically located villages along the 2 routes. Each village that these mobile clinics work in is carefully identified to be within easy access of 15 to 20 neighbouring villages. This ensures that the mobile clinics cover almost 150 villages in some of the most rural areas of Malawi. The medical Services at these clinics are free of charge.
Rural Maternity Centre-Somba
One of the latest projects MSS have just launched is the Rural Maternity clinic at Somba in Mangochi. On average, 40 babies are delivered every month.
Ambulance Service
If a patients’ condition is considered to be too critical for our facilities to handle, they are referred to the nearby Regional Hospital and ferried by the in house Ambulance.

U5 Clinic and VCT Centre
Ministry of health identified MSS as implementing partner to operate U5 Clinics at Bangwe, Ndirande and Somba.
Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT)
These are available at 2 of our clinics with support from international partners such as Digitas
